That beautiful pale face is my fate (For Lord Byron)

26th July - 7th September 2008

International artists are taking part in an amorous seance, trying to establish contact with Lord Byron, both as he was in his lifetime, and as he might be today. Artists include:Goshka Macuga, nominated for the Turner Prize, 2008, David Noonan, Alexis Marguerite Teplin, Pablo Bronstein, Marcia Farquhar, Blue Firth, Ulla Von Brandenburg and Linder.
Their work is set in the intimate surroundings of Byron's ancestral home, placed amongst his own possessions and portraits.

Marcia Farquhar

Sabastian Horsley

Byron was the adored celebrity of his day, loved by both men and women. Magnetic, scandalous, ambiguous, mysterious, rebellious, brave, beautiful, brilliant and destructive.
